Percherons Rumbling into Bishop this Memorial Day Weekend
They’re big, they’re beautiful, and by popular demand they’re coming back in the Bishop Mule Days Celebration arena. At the rein of Mule Days crowd-favorite Jason Goodman, the Young Living Percherons will be rumbling into Bishop, California this Memorial Day weekend.
This incredible team of black Percheron draft horses show the world what “horsepower” really means as a hitch of six horses work together to pull an old-fashioned freight wagon. Goodman guides his horses with expert handling through difficult maneuvers and high-speed demonstrations.
Goodman grew up attending Mule Days with his uncle, Von Twitchell. Following in Twitchell’s footsteps, Goodman has become a Mule Days legend for pushing the limits of speed and skill. In order to drive the team, Goodman must hold one rein for each horse, which enables him to guide them through the intricate display of wagon-driving mastery. Those who have witnessed the Percherons in action describe it as, “simply breathtaking,” and it has become a much-beloved Mule Days favorite.
The Percheron team is sponsored by Young Living Essential Oils. The team is based in Mona, Utah, but they travel extensively representing Young Living and delighting crowds throughout the country.
Goodman and the Young Living Percherons will be rumbling the Mule Days arena during the weekend shows, and will be in the Mule Days parade, which begins at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 26, down Main Street in Bishop.
